Meet Our Manager

Meet Alex — leading with heart.

Alex, manager of The Caring Shelf, making a heart with her hands

The Caring Shelf team

Hardworking. Compassionate. Mission-driven.

Alex brings dedication, initiative, and genuine care to The Caring Shelf. From her very first week, she made an extraordinary difference in helping our store get organized and serve our community.

More than a manager, Alex understands the purpose behind every donation and every act of kindness: supporting people in crisis and honoring Mason's legacy. We're so thankful she's part of our team.

The Anchor Program

Mentorship is about showing up—and staying.

Our vision is to connect teens with steady, caring adults who can encourage healthy decisions, help navigate education and work goals, and offer reliable support through difficult seasons.

What mentorship can mean

Listening without judgment. Encouraging a next step. Helping a young person discover possibilities beyond today's crisis.

Safety comes first

Mentorship roles require appropriate screening, orientation, clear boundaries, and program approval. We will only offer placements when our team has the capacity to supervise them safely.

Apply to become a mentor

Thank you for considering a commitment to a young person. Tell us about yourself and our team will follow up about next steps. Applying does not guarantee placement; all mentors must complete screening, training, and approval before serving.

Please do not include Social Security numbers, birth dates, or other sensitive background-check information. We will request screening details separately if appropriate.
